The two statements have completely symmetric forms, yet I think there are many of us who agree with one and deplore the other. Curious.

I don&#039;t have any solutions here, but a glimmer of a hint comes from your suggestion of &quot;inequality of risk.&quot; I think you&#039;ve only applied it to the &quot;does own / does not own&quot; inequality, but the very different reactions we have to the two statements above say we perceive -- and demand -- significantly greater inequalities here.</description>
