Way back when I worked at Novell, Eric Schmidt asked me to come up with a list of outrageous things we could do to get attention at Novell. My first recommendation was to buy up a bunch of personal information and then make it searchable on the Internet site we host. Yes, there would be lawsuits, but it would start the right kind of discussion by exposing how much personal information is trafficked without the knowledge or consent of the data subject. Of course we never did it. But then Eric went on to be the CEO of Google, so...</description>
